MEGlobal Designated Once Again as EnviroVista Leader

Red Deer, Alberta, Canada—June 20, 2007

MEGlobal’s Prentiss operations have once again been named an EnviroVista Leader by the Alberta government.

“This recognition results from our strong focus on the environment and on ensuring our operations are responsible and sustainable,” said MEGlobal Manufacturing Director Peter Ott. “Our employees have made environmental stewardship a major component of our operating philosophy and a key value in our decision making.”

MEGlobal was one of only 23 Alberta facilities honoured this year as EnviroVista Leaders in recognition of outstanding performance that exceeds the expectations of the province’s environmental legislation, and demonstrates responsibility, stewardship and an ongoing commitment to improving environmental performance. MEGlobal’s Fort Saskatchewan operations also played a role in helping Dow Chemical Canada, also one of the named facilities, achieve its EnviroVista Leadership designation at Fort Saskatchewan.

“In keeping with the principles of Responsible Care®, we want to continually improve our environmental performance, and it’s great to be recognized for those efforts,” stated Ott. “This is a site-wide achievement, and everyone can be very proud of this accomplishment.”

Chief Executive Officer Henry F. Roth added, “We are proud to receive this designation for a second consecutive year; I am proud of our people who strive every day to live the ethics of Responsible Care. To maintain a high level of performance is as hard as getting there. We are very proud.”

The EnviroVista program officially recognizes Alberta facilities that have demonstrated a minimum of five years of exemplary emissions performance and a comprehensive, publicly accessible, third-party-audited environmental management system, and have operated for five years prosecution-free under Alberta’s Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA). All facilities with a licensed approval under the EPEA are eligible for the program. Program participants are required to maintain or further improve their performance to maintain their EnviroVista leader status.
