MEGlobal CEO Signs Declaration of Support for Responsible Care Global Charter

Dubai, U.A.E.—March 1, 2007

MEGlobal announced that its CEO has signed a Declaration of Support for the Responsible Care® Global Charter. On February 13, CEO Henry Roth added his name to those of more than 100 other CEOs of chemical manufacturing companies from around the world.
Responsible Care is the chemical industry's global voluntary initiative under which companies, through their national associations, work together to continuously improve their health, safety and environmental performance, and communicate with stakeholders about their products and processes in the manufacture and supply of safe and affordable goods that bring real benefits to society.

“On behalf of MEGlobal and all the people who live in all the communities where we work, I am honored to join my illustrious colleagues from other companies who also realize the vital importance of Responsible Care and its implications for not only the world citizens of today, but also future generations,” Roth said. “This focus affects everything we do, from how we produce and deliver our products, to championing their safe handling by our customers, all the way through disposal.”

“Since its inception in July 2004, MEGlobal has been strongly committed to the health and safety of our employees, the communities in which we work, and the environment,” said Global Environment, Health & Safety and Quality Leader Rejeanne Cool.

On September 1, 2004, MEGlobal signed on to The Canadian Chemical Producers’ Association—the Canadian trade association that established Responsible Care in 1985—and committed to meet the ethics, policies and codes of practice of the initiative.
National associations now sign up for Responsible Care through the International Council of Chemical Associations, which acts as the initiative’s “guardian,” monitoring its implementation and ensuring it evolves to address current concerns and issues.
